Large Crowd Ettiquete
So… sometimes you just have to pass gass. You hold it and hold it and hold it… just waiting for the right moment. One of the best places is in a large group of people when it’s really loud. That way no one can hear you and if it smells bad, no one will know who did it.
So there I was. All uncomfortable. In a large crowd. With really loud music playing. Why should I suffer. So I passed gass. Rather skillfully, completely undetectable with the loud music.
Then three people kinda did a double take in my direction.
I immediately realized, “Gah… headphones! iPod! Bus!”
Damn you iPod! Fortunately it did not smell and no one seemed to care.

HAHAHAHAHA that’s awesome.
It’s an intriguing topic and I’m sure everyone has wrestled with this timeless issue at one point or another.
Personally, I think that if you have to let one go in a crowded area, it’s acceptable if the people around you can easily leave if the experience becomes too overwhelming. Elevators are prime examples of venues where it’s just completely unacceptable since bystanders are trapped and forced to smell your body’s foulest offering. Plus, you’re never on an elevator for long, so it’s not asking much of someone to just hold it until you reach your floor.
Bus’s generally have ventilation or a/c, BUT the riders are still captive, so my ruling here is that crowded bus’s should be off-limits unless it’s an emergency.
