It&#039;s an intriguing topic and I&#039;m sure everyone has wrestled with this timeless issue at one point or another.

Personally, I think that if you have to let one go in a crowded area, it&#039;s acceptable if the people around you can easily leave if the experience becomes too overwhelming.  Elevators are prime examples of venues where it&#039;s just completely unacceptable since bystanders are trapped and forced to smell your body&#039;s foulest offering.  Plus, you&#039;re never on an elevator for long, so it&#039;s not asking much of someone to just hold it until you reach your floor.

Bus&#039;s generally have ventilation or a/c, BUT the riders are still captive, so my ruling here is that crowded bus&#039;s should be off-limits unless it&#039;s an emergency.</description>
