Green Eggs and Ham Part 2 (Flash Cards)
Janelle loves learning to read. She is one of 5 “readers” in her KG class because she is doing so well at it. Her first week of school she was given flash cards of some common words to memorize before January. I think she had them solid in one week.
So, I had an idea… Teach her how to read Green Eggs and Ham by herself. So I created flash cards of all 50 words in Green Eggs and Ham.
Then… she comes out of her room with a book and shows us that she can read it. All words in it, including “jungle” and “animal”. She had to slow down and sound them out, but she did it perfectly. So now she doesn’t need flash cards for a simple book like Green Eggs and Ham. But hey, maybe someone else will find a use for them.

That is great. Kudos to Janelle. Target sells sight word flash cards, which are words all kids need to learn to recognize and pronounce by sight versus phonetics to be successful readers. You should get her those. It would be a great tool in her reading success. They sell them in the section with kids books.
